Other Collaborative Pieces

During my time working on the murder mystery game, I had the opportunity to work in a collaborative way with other people on completely separate projects.

From joint gallery pieces, to RPG game art, to working with a fellow student to get his card game planned and printed.

Gallery pieces

While looking for more work online, I came across a website that focused on cartoons. During my time on the site, I came to know a few people there and had a meeting with the administrators. I was added to a private discord channel and agreed to a verbal NDA. Since then, the art I made has been shared online, so I feel it is right to discuss it here.

My task was to manage a character known as "Titanium White" an artist who runs an art gallery, these pieces would be used for advertisement and as icons/banners/other visually useful items for the website.

With these completed, and feedback attained, I moved on to more images to flesh out the character. For forum posts such as rules, submissions, feedback sections, etc.

I had created an image of a blank canvas, I then asked a poll to decide on what should be on the canvas, after some voting and discussions, it was decided on that it should be of royalty, so I would then go about drawing the Princess and later layering it over the canvas with some effects to make it look painted.

Time restrictions did not allow for overtly detailed or shaded images, but the client was very happy with what was created. Further images were created, with similar designs, all to be used on the website for one thing or another.

I also made a short animated gif for a section of the website all about rules. It was designed to represent confusion and took about a day of back and fourth feedback and multiple iterations before finally landing on the final piece.

RPG Game Art

Somewhat linked to the project above, one of the Moderators spoke to me in private about a Role Playing Game, stating they were seeking out artists for the game. It is a digital version of a tabletop game, no graphics, but instead text and images, below are some of the pieces I made, along with discussing iterations of the art and what they were looking for. As of writing, this is still ongoing.

It started when I was asked how well I could draw ponies, as this game was based on the My Little Pony franchise. I was given some scenarios and tasked with drawing them. My personal favourite was of an action scene where a boulder was thrown at the players. The first draft was ok, though after some feedback, I revised it. It's still rough, but it's a proof of concept more than anything.

From left to right - Version 1, and Version 2.

After some back and forth, we then discussed characters and game pieces. I created some physical pieces to better show how they may look on a game board, even if it's digital. The character chosen was a beloved icon of disability within the fandom, a character with Strabismus that effects her eyes. I say this, because otherwise these next pieces may look poorly made.

Following the success of this character, I was asked to use the same pose for the rest of the characters.

This is still ongoing, with more character designs to come.

Card game printing

Another classmate was looking into making and printing their own card game, but lacked knowlege in how to do so. I met with them a few times to discuss what they need to do, how to format the cards, changing SRGB to CYMK for printing, resolution of game pieces, prices and where to get quotes.

The initial batch of printing came out rough, this was due to a few factors, mostly that the colours used were in SRGB and were not able to be printed in CYMK. The resolution was also very low in the initial batch. We discussed in detail how things need to be printed, what is needed of him and what companies would expect from him. He would later go about making higher quality variants and converting the SRGB colour pallet to CYMK, however he did not need further printing once these were done and instead looked towards the private sector for professional printing.
